High-Level & Specialist Cleaning

Cleaning of ceilings, high-level ductwork, and areas requiring access equipment or specialist methods. CHAS Elite accredited, fully insured, and compliant with working-at-height regulations.

Cleaning Where Standard Access Won't Reach

Commercial kitchen and industrial environments often have cleaning requirements that go beyond what can be reached from floor level. High-level ductwork runs, kitchen ceiling structures, extraction system discharge points above roof level, and structural steelwork all require either access equipment or specialist methods, and contractors who are trained and insured to use them safely.

Hy5 holds CHAS Elite accreditation: the highest level of contractor health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. Every high-level clean is planned with a specific risk assessment and method statement, and carried out by technicians trained in safe working at height.

High-level cleaning is often overlooked in routine maintenance schedules, but grease build-up on high-level surfaces and ductwork runs is just as much a fire risk as ground-level accumulation. We include it in maintenance programmes where relevant or carry it out as a standalone visit.

Safe working at height requires proper planning and trained operatives

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 place a legal duty on employers to ensure that work at height is properly planned, supervised, and carried out by competent persons. Our risk assessments, method statements, and CHAS Elite accreditation demonstrate exactly that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accreditations do you hold for working at height?
Hy5 holds CHAS Elite accreditation: the highest level of contractor health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. This includes formal assessment of our safety management systems, working-at-height procedures, risk assessment processes, and method statements. We can provide full accreditation documentation and insurance certificates on request before any work begins.
Does high-level ductwork cleaning form part of a TR19 clean?
It depends on the system. TR19 requires the full extraction system to be cleaned, including all ductwork runs from canopy to discharge. If parts of your system are at height and require access equipment, they are still within the scope of the TR19 clean. We assess the access requirements at the site visit and quote for a complete system clean accordingly. High-level work that goes beyond the extraction system itself (ceiling cleaning, structural steelwork) is quoted separately.
Can high-level cleaning be added to a maintenance programme?
Yes, high-level and specialist cleaning can be added to a Hy5 maintenance programme as a scheduled annual or biennial visit. It is often most cost-effective to combine it with a TR19 extraction clean to minimise kitchen downtime and access planning.
What areas do you cover?
Based in Ulverston, we cover Cumbria, Lancashire, and the wider Northwest. Call 01229 588556 to confirm coverage for your location.
