Why do I need my Ventilation system cleaned?
In any ventilation system there will be a build up of dust and debris which not only creates a potential fire risk, it also provides a habitat for mould and pathogens that can spread through the ventilation system and into buildings. These pathogens are the leading cause of illnesses to building inhabitants. This is known in the industry as ‘Sick building syndrome’
In addition to regular filter changes Industry standard recommends that ventilation ductwork should be inspected annually to test:
- The internal deposits of harmful contaminants are within safe limits to be breathed in by building inhabitants.
- Dust levels are not creating a fire hazard within the ductwork
As the building owner or manager, you have a duty of care to the inhabitants of the property to deliver clean fresh air that is safe to breathe.
